A Vision of K-12 Students Today
If you attended the Problem-Based Learning staff development this spring, you may recognize this video. I thought it did a perfect job of showcasing the importance of developing our students into 21st Century Learners. We need to start teaching our students how to create products, analyze ideas, and evaluate the world around them. This doesn’t mean we need to take every Web 2.0 tool and use it in our classrooms immediately. It means we need to choose one tool that we feel most comfortable with and can effectively use with our students. Perhaps that’s blogging for some of you. For others it may be using wikis or podcasts. It’s better to use one tool effectively than to use multiple tools just for the sake of using them.
So my question to you is this: After viewing this video, what is your reaction to its message? What is something you can do with your students to teach them to live successfully in the 21st century?
